About Penrite Oils


Les Mecoles, the creator of Penrite, began making the first batches of oil in his parent's home in St. Kilda, Melbourne, Australia, in 1926. He manufactured the items on his mother's stove when he was 16 years old and marketed them using his father's wheelbarrow to milling factories, local shipping ports, and service stations. His oils were made with top-of-the-line lubricants made from Pennsylvania (Pen) base stocks, which were regarded as the best in the world.
