About Renthal

Renthal began in 1969 as a manufacturer of trail bike handlebars, founded by engineers and motorcycle enthusiasts Andrew Renshaw and Henry Rosenthal. Renthal is an iconic and world-famous trademark connected with the creation of aluminium handlebars. It is a combination of "Ren" from Renshaw and "thal" from Rosenthal. Renthal joined the motocross industry in 1975 and constructed a production plant in Manchester, England, which is still where the company's headquarters are now. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the firm grew steadily, and in the early 1990s, it effectively infiltrated the US market.

A huge fire destroyed the Renthal plant, but it was reconstructed with a state-of-the-art production and design facility equipped with sophisticated technology and equipment. Renthal is still motivated by the same enthusiasm for engineering and motorsports that it had more than 50 years ago.
